14k white gold Merelani Mint Garnet ring designed by Christopher Michael. This ring features a blue green colored mint garnet, with VS1 clarity, and cut in an antique cushion shape. This gemstone is from Tanzania and is actually a bi-product from the Tanzanite mining. Mint garnet of this color and clarity is a rarity. The last time we've see this quality of material was about 10 years ago. The garnet weighs 3.35 carats, measures 7mm wide by 9mm long by 6mm deep. It has a very good cut and is set with 6 prongs. Christopher Michael designed this piece so the gem was slightly turned, yet fitting right between the two diamond swirls. The 26 accent diamonds are prong set, D-E-F color, VS1 clarity, round brilliant cut diamonds, that weigh 1/2 carat total weight. The ring weighs a total of 4.87 grams.
