One 1.64 carats kite daylight fluorescent hyalite opal from Zacatecas Mexico, green color, VS2 clarity, cut grade very good, measuring 7.8 mm wide, 14 mm long, 4.7 mm deep; with very good polish and very good symmetry. The characteristic that makes this such a valuable gem is the strong daylight fluorescence that is rare in gems and this material is no longer mined. Hyalite opal is common from many sources but no other source displays the strong daylight fluorescence.
